NYC Contractors: TimeWarner Cable Installer
Time Warner cable installers do not like finding out first thing in the morning that the installation they just arrived to needs everything installed.. starting from the pole & drilling through the house.
This guy said he wasn’t taking the ladder through the house and told me I’d have to re-schedule the appointment. Now, I’m told that this is standard proceedure, but there are buildings on my street that are attached to other buildings — if this is standard practice, noone, save 4 buildings on my street, should have cable service…
Lame assed excuse, but after waiting for the plumber to come back, uHaul and a chimny sweep that never showed, I’m starting to get used to the level of service found in NYC.
Update:
Eventually I did get a different contractor to come back. Time Warner doesn’t actually employ people directly, they contract out to smaller independent contractors (again, check references, insurance etc..). The guys completed the cable hookup, although they should’ve installed some sort of repeater as the signal to the cable box is degraded.. sigh.
